An Atlas of
Professional Destinations

A traveller's guide to the four great platforms

PRINTED FOR THE WORKING TRAVELLER · 2026

Every professional life is, in its way, a journey. Where once a single road carried most who travelled, today the careful pilgrim chooses among four well-known destinations. Each has its own climate, its own customs, and its own most welcoming season. The pages of this atlas describe them as honestly as we are able.

I.

LinkedIn

· The Great Capital of the Professional World,
EST. 2003
POP. 1B+
200+ LANDS

The largest, the oldest, and the most populated of the four destinations. LinkedIn has been the central capital of the working world for more than two decades, and remains so in 2026. Travellers from over two hundred countries pass through its boulevards, and most professionals find at least some portion of their journey takes them here.

One finds in this city all manner of districts. The job market quarter. The recruiter's exchange. The content publishing hall. The learning library. Each has its own character, and each remains accessible from a single entry pass.

Of all the destinations in this atlas, this is the one few travellers can afford to skip entirely. Visit early in your career, and return often.
II.

Indeed & Glassdoor

· The Crossroads of Employment,
EST. 2004
POP. 350M
60+ LANDS

A different sort of destination. Indeed is not a city to live in but a bustling marketplace to visit when one is in active search of employment. Three hundred and fifty million monthly travellers come to its stalls in any given month, and the wares displayed are job listings from more than three million employers.

Within walking distance lies its sister town, Glassdoor, where the traveller may consult honest accounts from those who have worked in any given establishment, along with reliable salary information.

A traveller does not settle here. One comes, one finds, one departs. There is no community to speak of, only commerce.
III.

Wellfound

· The Outpost of the Pioneers,
EST. 2010
POP. 8M
TECH HUBS

A frontier town. Wellfound, formerly known as AngelList Talent, is the gathering place of those who travel with the early-stage and venture-backed companies. The population is small by the standards of the great cities, perhaps eight million in all, but the gathering of nearly one hundred and fifty thousand listed companies makes it the central point for those seeking such positions.

A peculiar custom prevails here: all listings publish their compensation, including equity stakes, openly. Founders may be approached directly. The frontier is informal by design.

Outside of technology and venture-backed lands the outpost has little to offer. Bring an appetite for risk if you make the journey.
IV.

Meetup & Lunchclub

· The Town Square & The Coffeehouse,
EST. 2002
POP. 52M
190+ LANDS

The most unusual destination of the four. Meetup exists not in any screen but in the physical world, in town squares and meeting halls across one hundred and ninety countries. Some fifty-two million members gather at over two million events each year, drawn together by shared professional and personal interests.

Its companion, Lunchclub, employs an obliging artificial intelligence to introduce strangers one to one, by appointment, for the simple purpose of coffee and conversation. No employment is conducted at either; the business of these places is friendship and acquaintance.

A traveller leaves these places with names and faces, not with job offers. The deeper wealth of the destination lies in its company.
